Rose's BlueBell Beat

Rose’s Best of 2011 By: Rose

Best Movie: “Hugo
My mind was blown by Martin Scorsese’s epic film. I laughed, I cried, I wished I lived in Paris in the 1930’s (well, until the bad stuff started happening).

Best TV Show (drama): “Friday Night Lights”
I will miss you, show. You have filled my life with so much joy. BlueBell is definitely not Dillon. Yet sometimes I like to pretend it is.

Best TV Show (comedy): “Community
One of the funniest shows on TV that constantly makes me laugh. Please come back soon.

Best Bravo Show: “Top Chef All Stars
So great having all our favorite Top Chef contestants back for another turn. Yes, Richard should have probably won. But my heart will always be with Carla. Hootie!

Best Book: “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern
Magical! In more ways than one! I couldn’t put it down. I haven’t loved a book featuring magicians this much since “Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.”

Best (young adult) Book: “Daughter of Smoke and Bone” by Laini Taylor
Young adult fiction has never been so good (since Hunger Games). Can’t wait for the next two in the trilogy.

Best Comic Book: “Chew
Have I ever been so excited for a new issue of a comic book to be released? Nope. Chew is where it’s at and I never want it to end!

Best Podcast: Memory Place http://thememorypalace.us/
Okay, I’m a history buff. Although even if I wasn’t I’d still be obsessed with this podcast. Educational and entertaining. You’re missing out by not subscribing.

Best Album: Adele’s “21″
Obvious choice. But also the best choice.

Best Song: “Video Games” by Lana Del Rey
My iTunes play count is embarrassingly high for this song. I listened to it on repeat (on my iPod, on my computer, on a burned CD in my mom’s car, etc).

Best Website: RookieMag.com
Tavi Gevinson is only one year older than me and she is killing it. I wish I had come up with a website like this. Perhaps 2012 New Year’s resolution? Tavi, you rock.

Best BlueBell Event: Founder’s Day Parade
Not only did I get to ride on the mayor’s float but this year’s parade turned into ultimate madness. For BlueBell, this is pretty uncommon. And so so exciting!

Best New BlueBell Resident: Dr. Zoe Hart
Duh.
