I know this blog is really about keeping you up with the happenings around BlueBell. However, it’d be remiss of me not to bring up what I think is a very important issue. One that I recently witnessed first hand in our little town. So here goes: Mean girls suck, obviously. Unfortunately, CLJJ HS has its fair share of them. The school hallways are full of cliquey teenaged girls who have set out to make their classmates’ lives living hells. I have to remind myself on a daily basis that high school will soon be over. It’s just four years. I can get through this. The silver lining in it all is that I’ll get older and that the people I associate with will also mature. Although, after recently seeing the hazing in which poor Dr. Zoe Hart had to endure I’m reconsidering my theory. Do mean girls just turn into mean women? Can people ever really outgrow teenage antics? Does having two X chromosomes automatically make you callous and catty thus forcing you to never change? These grown BlueBellian women made Zoe perform a series of tasks so wild and demeaning they belong in a sorority house, not in the town square. This disgusting behavior makes me embarrassed for my gender. We girls need to stick together, not bully one another around. I wish us females could come together and celebrate our similarities rather than constantly try to bring one another down. Because really, if we women were to unite wholeheartedly, I believe we could do anything. Yet if we continue with these awful exploits, we’ll never take over the world. And seriously, we totally could do that. Girls freaking rule.
